Description:
A white marble columnar statue base shaft (H. 1.67, diam. 0.48) with a moulded upper rim; the stone is badly weathered, and partly broken away above.
Text:
Inscribed very lightly on the upper part of the column.
Letters:
Elongated; av. 0.05, phi 0.06; standard sigma and omega; the style appears appropriate to the late third or early fourth century. Boulanger apparently saw traces of red paint in the letters, but none remains.
Date:
c. A.D. 324-350 (lettering, content).

Hadrianic Baths, East Court: 'face E(st) du pilier N(ord)' (Boulanger).
