Apparatus

i: Wood could not read lines 1 and 2

ii. l. 7, episilon corrected from sigma.

Translation:

i. [The Council and the People honoured] also after her death with appropriate and becoming honours Neaira Ammia, daughter of Menekles, who was the wife of Metrodoros Demetrios son of Metrodoros, who lived in a well-ordered and discreet manner.

ii. The Council and the People honoured also after his death Metrodoros Demetrios son of Metrodoros who lived with due order, ambitious to serve the common good of the city and zealous as a magistrate, in the superintendency of public building and in other services for the city.

Commentary:

These texts are in different hands - i. resembles 12.609 (=MAMA 478) - but are inscribed on a single block, part of the tomb whose elements were incorporated in the South-east gate, and which include 13.302 (=ΜΑΜΑ 474), and 12.411 (=MAMA 548): see Reynolds, 'The first known Aphrodisian to hold a procuratorship', Steine und Wege (Vienna, 1999), 327-334.
