Description of Text
Inscribed along the upper edge (surviving width of inscription, 0.70). In the second line the cutter has had to avoid elements of the decorative relief. The full text muxt have begun on the lid, and finished on the lower moulding.

ἑτερος δὲ οὐδεὶς ἕξει ἐξουσίαν ἐνθάψαι τινα ἢ ἐκθάψαι ἐπὶ ἀποτείσει
ὧν τὸ τρίτον ἔστω τοῦ ἐγδικήσαντος
Translation
no-one else shall have the right to bury anyone (in the sarcophagus) or to remove anyone (from it) since (if he does) he will pay of which the third part is to belong to the prosecutor
