57. Building inscription of Pytheas, in verse
Description
- Monument:
Five joining fragments of white marble revetment, with upper and lower edges surviving (H. 0.62, W. 1.28, Th. 0.025).
- Text:
Inscribed on the prepared face.
- Letters:
0.275; very mannered; cut with a broad trench, with triangular profile, but with sides unpolished.
- Date:
Late fifth century (prosopography).
