8.108. Building dedication by Aristokles Molossos
- Description:
- White marble panelled block (W. 1.11 × H. 0.86 × D. 0.40) with a moulded tabella ansata (die, W. 0.85 × H. 0.65), whose handles must have been completed on adjacent blocks. The upper left corner is broken away, and the bottom moulding is chipped along the edge; there are deep grooves, probably natural, on the face in the area of ll. 12 and 13, which the letter-cutter had to avoid.
- Text:
- Inscribed on one face within the tabella.
- Letters:
- 0.03. diairetic dots in ll. 2, ΤΟΙΣ · ΤΑ · ΑΝΑ, 6: ·Α·ΡΙΣΤΟΚΛΗΣ, 7, accompanied by small superscript bars on ΚΑ·Ι·ΚΟΣ, both occurrences. Dot for stop in l. 8; erasure in l.1.
