Description:
Two fragments, not adjoining, of a white marble sarcophagus, undecorated except for a wide tabella ansata, which is inscribed. a.: fragment from the upper part of the tabella, cut down for re-use, with upper moulding but no other sides suviving (W. 0.275 × H. 0.26 × D. 0.105). b. lower part of the sarcophagus (W. 1.89 × H. 0.40 × D. 0.69). The sarcophagus was re-used in a fountain, so the face is worn.

Translation:

In this sarcophagus is buried Marcus Aurelius Kal[ .... ]s, veteran of the First Parthian legion Severiana Antoniniana, which legion is at Singara in Mesopotamia by the river Tigris.
