Apparatus
Something like . . .[τειμῆ]σ[αι δὲ καὶ τὸ]ν παῖδα [αὐτοῦ] may have stood in ll. 1-3
Translation:
. . . ] that his] son [be honoured] in a decree also after his death and for him too to be praised by the Council and the People [ . . .
Commentary:
This is perhaps part of a decision of the Council that a father as well as his deceased son should be honoured; it probably concluded by urging the father to bear his loss with courage. For the combination of elements cf. 12.704a (=MAMA 512)
