Six fragments from a white marble statue base shaft with panels within moulded edges on all sides (a H. 1.40 × W. 0.51 × D. 0.43).
Text:
Inscribed on the front panel; the last letter of l. 11 cut on moulding.
Letters:
Av. 0.04; irregular, elongated: Ε is both square and lunate; dot for stop.
Date:
Late fifth century (prosopography).
Findspot:
Bouleuterion/Odeon: in the area of the stage; where the accompanying statue was also found.
Original Location:
Bouleuterion/Odeon.
Last recorded location:
One fragment in the back corridor of the Bouleuterion/Odeon; five in the Museum. Statue in the Museum.
History of discovery:
Excavated by the NYU expedition in 1962-64; statue excavated in 1962-3 (62.484, 62.489, 63.72).

Translation:

City of the Paphian goddess and of Pytheas: she, for her part, having exalted [?has given blessings] appropriate to a goddess [to] the city [·· ? ··?while he] in addition to constant works, unsparing of his wealth, has built [·· ? ··] as an offering.
