Description

  • Monument: A white marble architrave block (0.42 × 2.71 × 0.645) with very simple moulding above two stepped fasciae.
  • Text: inscribed in one line along the upper fascia (H. 0.135).
  • Letters: Av. 0.07, 0.05; elongated, irregular; scroll for abbreviation.
  • Date: Late fifth century.

Translation

Philip, son of Herodian, admirandissimus, returning thanks to his own fatherland, covered (i.e. roofed) the two sections.
