Description
- Monument:
White marble garland sarcophagus. See Isik 176 for a full
description.
- Text:
Inscribed on the tabella (0.195 × 0.345) from which a
previous inscription has been erased. Line 1 on the upper moulding,
lines 2 ff. inscribed within the panel; lines 3-6, 9-12 impinge on the
right moulding. Very worn.
- Letters:
Irregular and poorly formed, 0.01-0.015; cursive alpha, omega
and mu used sporadically, square sigma.
- Date:
Late third/early fourth century (titles).

Translation
The sarcophagus, and the area surrounding this memorial,
is (the property of) M. Aurelius Leontius Auchenius, teacher of
friends, and M. Aurelius Papaeus Polychronius, steward of Papias,
curialis.

The principal indication of date is the title of Papias'
