115. Prayer of Theodore, 'the Bell'
Description | Text | Translation | Images | Commentary | Location | History
Description
- Monument:
A block (0.58
× 0.73 ×
0.25) pierced with five
holes - the largest is in the centre, surrounded by four others
arranged in a square. The holes do not impinge on the text, and could
conceivably form part of the original monument, but it seems more
probable that the stone was re-used. The surface is worn, especially
at the lower left corner.
- Text:
The inscription runs along the edge, below the holes.
- Letters:
The letters are cut between guidelines; av. 0.02; scroll, following or above
letter, for abbreviation.
- Date:
|
